Thanks to their generosity, the Zonta Club of Woodstock will have their name on both the Waiting Room within the Diagnostic Imaging Department and a semi-privateroom in the Maternal/Child Women’s Health Unit.
A small club, with fewer than 25 members, this dynamic group of dedicated women have made significant contributions both at home in Oxford County and around the world.
“Zonta’s naming opportunities in the new hospital are very fitting for a Club whose mandate is to advance the status of women through service and advocacy,” notes Maria Odumodu, President. “This donation nicely compliments other initiatives by our club, that have also benefited our community.”
Every year, the Zonta Club of Woodstock supports local scholarship initiatives to assist young women in their educational pursuits. In addition, Zonta has given $6,000 to CCAC, for each of the last three years, while also supporting Big Sisters/Big Brothers, the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Women’s Emergency Centre, Ingamo Homes, the YW/YMCA Building Fund and Family Violence Counseling.
“Fellowship is a big aspect of our club,” states Wilma Boughtflower, Treasurer, “but raising money to support worthwhile initiatives is a prime motivator. When you get a focused group of professional women together, there is little that can’t be accomplished.”
